Expect the heated grips got a new part numbers, new letter at the end ..?

 

They might have the newer version that is bumpy 96680572A. The 571 version was without bumps.

I am trying to find the 571A version since I don't want my XD to look like a dirt bike with bumpy grips.

Sad they got rid of the smooth version for the bumpy 572 grips.

LOL, that is what I ordered. They took them out of the box and took a picture for me to confirm they are not the bumpy ones.

 

I'm so glad I went with the newer gen, maybe they'll last longer than the older one ????????????, I got the new ones and just as long as they heat up I'm a happy camper. Remember it's "ribbed" for pleasure

I found the old version in Canada and ordered them. We'll see how they are when I get them. I am not sure why Ducati doesn't make both versions as the adventure bikes look good with the bumpy/dirt bike ones, and the XD and D look good with the smooth ones.

I ordered the newer ones because Pure-Ducati has them 10% off with free shipping. i don't mind the bumps, they will be under my glove most of the time anyways so you won't see it.

 

That's actually how much I got it for. Bought at another Ducati dealer in the province. I hate having to buy from the USA. We get hit hard with brokerage fees. Just have to shop around for pricing. I actually can't wait to start using the heated grips feature. No more or less cold hands on rides

Anyone in the Seattle area want to enable the heated grips for me so I don't have to go to dealer and pay shop labor to do it???

 

I don't think anyone can unless they have the Ducati software and hardware needed to access the ECU.

 

Afraid you have to go to a dealer. This feature is hidden and must, as others mention, be enabled with computer tools

 

Not true I enabled my grips myself using a Motorscan 6050. Expensive bit of kit but I shared the cost with my nephew around $1000

 

Indeed. The dealer has to connect the DDS2 to the bike to enable the heated grips. Charged me $75 for that (bay area).

 

Got a pleasant surprise. I ordered the new part number but still got the smooth grips instead of the bumpy ones. Winning!

I paid $67 at Dealer. Minimum labor charge plus tax. Washington State tax 10.5% sucks!!!
