Slow acceleration, something is wrong

I did a few speed tests last weekend and came back unimpressed, worried even, as it took my diavel 10 full seconds to go from 100 to 200 kmh, and what felt like an age to reach 250 kmh.

Settings:
  • Mode: Touring
  • Engine: High
  • DTC: 4
  • DWC: 4

Perhaps my expectations were too high and now I'm just being paranoid, but feels like there is no noticeable difference between 80% and wide open throttle. Could this be caused by touring mode despite having engine set to high?

That is not normal. In the correct gear, it will reach those speeds very quickly. I use track mode since it sets everything else where I want it. See if that helps. What other symptoms did it display ?
This are the only weird symptoms I can remember:
  • Sometimes the bike won't start on first try if it has been sitting in the garage for +2 weeks.
  • It has a kinda rough/jerky idle when cold.
  • 5 or 6 months ago the engine failure light came on for about a min and then turned off by itself. Drove the bike back to the dealership, had it checked and they said it was a brief exhaust valve failure. The light never came back on again.

I'll perform the same speed tests in sport mode this weekend. If the bike still feels "slow" I'll either get it checked again or dyno tested.

Here are the results of today's acceleration tests:
  • 100-200 km/h from 2nd gear: 8,20s
  • 100-200 km/h from 3rd gear: 9,15s
  • 100-200 km/h from 4th gear: 9,30s
  • 100-200 km/h from 5th gear: 10,05s

I'll upload some vids tomorrow. So far, all I can say is that 4th gear feels the laziest of all.

A quick update just in case anyone is still interested: took my diavel to the dealership for its annual service and turns out the servo motor isn't working properly... The butterfly exhaust valve is always closed, and that is hurting performance.

That was a quick diagnosis however. The bike is still at the dealership.

Things are getting funny: the mechanic told me the servo cable was held in place too tightly, so they fixed that and apparently problem solved... Well, I took the bike for a ride and after a few hours the warning light came back on.

I'll keep this thread updated.

The thriller continues: They changed the servo completely and 3 weeks later... yes, you guessed right, the light came back on.

This time around I want to see the actual diagnosis result, and maybe I get other professionals involved.

They ended up changing a relay that was supposedly faulty, but 3 weeks later the issue got far worse and I almost crashed: The dashboard went completely crazy while I was going 75 mph. All warning lights came on and both the gear indicator and the speedo began to show random numbers in fast succession, all the while I was unable to change gears or apply any throttle. ABS would also activate randomly with the faintest touch of brake levers. Luckly, after a minute or so, the bike would let me downshift, so I slowed down to a halt and called the towtruck once again.

I've had enough of this shit... Had that happened mid corner I could be dead, so I'm asking for a refund/replacement this time. There probably wont be any updates in a long, long time.

Hello there, ducatisti fellas! It's been almost a year since the last update.

Long story short: they ended up replacing every and all electrical components and removing the alarm system. The bike worked better than ever, so good in fact that it felt like a completely different bike. They then asked me to put back the alarm cause it could be the root of all problems, so I agreed and the issues came back. The alarm went to the trash bin and no error codes or power related issues since then. That was in october 2023. Problem is, not everything came back to normalcy after they removed the alarm for the last time: the throttle response feels neutered, I can't tell the difference between MEDIUM and HIGH engine mappings. "Low battery" warning occasionally shows up on the dash despite having changed the keyfob battery multiple times. The bike also seems to lack torque at very low revs, a feeling similar to taking off in 2nd gear.

Despite all this, the bike still does 100-200 km/h in about 5.3 seconds and has no issues reaching 263 km/h... Anyway, next week is the annual service, so we'll see what do they find out, although something tells me everything will be fine for as long as warranty lasts.
