How to Repair Cracks in Instrument Screen?

I have a 2011 Carbon. 39000km of trouble free motoring. I do all the maintenance myself. This baby has never let me down, except once when I ran out of fuel (38km of the low fuel light, lesson learned).
Now, I have a number (4) of creeping cracks in the tank instrument panel. LCD still works perfectly. Im not payiing $1000AUD plus for a new one. Does anyone know if it is possible to remove the acrylic screen and replace it with a new one? If so, a link, or intructions would be great.

First of all, welcome to the forum after all those years!

As to your issue: In all my years on this forum, I cannot recall ever having read of this problem... or of anyone disassembling the screen. But I imagine if you could manage to disassemble it without destroying it, you probably could source some sheet acrylic.

I wonder if this problem is something that will start showing up on other models as they age. When did your cracks start appearing?

Best of luck, and please do let us all know how it goes.

Just this year. Started as one small crack, now there are four. WHen I see pictures of the instrument panel as a part, clearly the cover screws off with four screws. Shame its not available as a part on its own. I might just try and use some acrylic solvent to fill the cracks and stop them growing.

I would use clear heavy duty packing tape and cut it out to match size then apply it over it until you figure it out .
