Hey All,
I have been narrowing down my selection on exhausts for my XDS. I have been digging the aesthetics of the Zard with optional Black ceramic coating. The obvious go to is the Termis as we all know however, the Zard requires no flashing of the ECU and is on par to me in terms of looks. No ECU flashing can be perceived as a benefit or a negative depending on the power gains of the Termi reflash.

At these price points I am not sweating another few hundred over the Termis or saving money for the Zard.

All things being equal where cost is negligible to me, what are everyone's thoughts? I did not find much on Zard for the XDS here or on YouTube so maybe there are a few people that have one or the other.

Does anyone know if the heat displacement is improved on the Zard? I have read it is much less noticeable on the Termis. Does anyone have a set of Zard with the black ceramic coating to share? My last question is if anyone know if the Zard has removable baffles (silencers) to adjust the decibels?

Here are a few videos if anyone has not yet seen the two.

Brash,
glad you posted this I have the same questions. Leaning to the Zard - I like the look and the sound per the video but some real life feedback would be great. Did you consider the Arrow? I am not sure I like the screens on the Arrow's - look unfinished.

Agree on the arrow. I almost bought a bike with them on it but the look didn’t do it for me and stock wasn’t available. The Arrows do not look like a polished product to me for the price.

I also like the looks of the Zard exhaust over the Termi and would also love to get an owner's perspective. Supposedly they are built to order.
Yep - that's what is marketed on their site, I'm adjusting my expectations based upon a lack of ownership here in the states. Hopefully some will chime in here, I've never kept a stock exhaust on anything i've owned outside of my Daily Driven Raptor - and even her time is coming for some Borlas.

Weren't aware that Zard had done something for the X.

They look great!

Can't speak for the Zards for the X but have a full Zard system on another bike and am very happy with the quality and performance of the system.

They make a good quality product imo.

The price once black ceramic coated makes either of the 2 options about the same. What do you all think about the upmapping that comes with the Termi over no fuel mapping on the Zard?

I think shift tech carbon are selling the Zara's now. Reach out to them - probably have some thoughts on the mapping issues. I went with the shift tech carbon pipe and the rapid bike EVo auto tuner

Well, they were - gone from the site now. Really like the look of the Zard as well...but super happy with my setup.

I prefer the Zard. The only reason I did not venture out and get one is because I saw how someone had problems on the non X where their boot kept touching and melting over the exhaust. Not an issue with the forward footpegs of the X though.

I couldn't find any - bit the bullet and went with Termis. To me they sound the best.
^^This. My bike came with a Shift-Tech slip on from the previous owner and I love the way it sounds, but i don't think anything sounds as good as the Termis. If I re-do the exhaust it will be a full Termi. I like the deeper sound of the Termi over the raspy sound most other pipes have. I have the same struggle with my Mustang. Coming from a Chevy LS engine its hard to get used to the raspy, hollow, sound of the 4.6 mod motors. I prefer a deep "muscle" sound to a raspy "exotic" sound...all personal preference though.
