Whatever that meant????? However thread is saved for future reference.
Yes, I agree.....the bitch is quick to get there.

Asked my 24 year old daughter when she learned I bought a Diavel..."Why didn't you buy a Harley?" My reply was
"EVERYBODY owns a Harley!!! I'm not normal... BTW, "WTF do you know about Ducati motorbikes anyway?", Her reply was very short...."All I know Dad, is they go real fast." :)

Thanks for sharing Bud.

Ducati charger plugs into larger rectangular plug under seat. Did it this morning.
Dealer gave me a deal on the charger when I paid way too much for initial oil change.
I put a lead on my old superbike but I'm not aware of a battery lead from the factory on the diavel. Just the diagnostic plug under seat.

I just know we can contact ECU directly via two contact plug for communication, because I have read ECU via this plug.

The other plug, meaning four contact plug, consists of two contacts for power and two contacts for CAN.
Anyone who have used TuneBoy or OpenFlash Tablet knows we can contact ECU via the plug. Because two contacts are CAN line.

As tvshooter said Dealer charged battery via large rectangular plug, the plug is right four contact plug. Probably the dealer connected the plug with charger using a kind of adapter. They could charge with that way, because two contacts are power line.

If anyone wants to know exactly, what he needs is asking dealer.

My dealer installs a charge pigtale for a c-tek on the left side on all their bikes. Probably so guys don't mess up the bolt heads trying to get to the battery. Then you only have to take the seat off for your tuner.

Love the Optimates........great to see they do an adapter as well. Mentioned to my dealer and he said Ducati will not honour any warranty items the Optimates may damage, he said they can spike on initial startup which can affect ducati sensitive equipment. Thought it was horse shite...read the manual and mentions they only recommend there own conditioner. Sales pitch...probably but why take the chance so got the Duc one.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but I am seeking clarity on the two plugs. The workshop manual lists the two pin plug as 12V power outlet (part 39 in the image) but others here have said it is for communicating with ECU. I have checked the voltage across it and it is about 9V. Is it a 12V power outlet and I have a low voltage or is the manual wrong and it is for the ECU. Any help appreciated. Please see attached images.

The manual has many errors, especially with regard to wiring. In this case, the illustration in post #15 is wrong. Talkriver's diagram in post #8 is right.
