For all the trumpets blowing for the "new" V4, there really isn't any discernible performance gain over any generation of previous Diavel.
Unless ya really fall in love with the looks I cant see too many current Diavel owners rushing to buy. IDK.

Maybe saving it for the S modell or they will add semi-active suspension...
Typical Ducati to squeeze much ass possible...

Yeah, I’m sure next year we will see the S models. Ohlins, new colours, few other slight upgrades.

A trip to ducati is a weekend thing for me so a year one model def wouldn’t be in the cards. Obviously I hope it rolls out smooth, but I’d imagine there will be several issues with the first model. Have you guys seen the new exhaust that they are selling for it?
I still say my 11 and 22 are sexier, and will destroy the v4 off the line. But I guess I’ll find out

By our good friends Acropovic, Looks pretty bad ass. I’d imagine it’ll come with a tune. And hopefully the upmap removed that silly “shut 1/2. The engine down when off the throttle” that I’ve come to hate on every other thing it’s on.

it’s subsequent models like the carbon are the meanest looking diavels. It’s like they ripped it out of a comic book. Kids always ask me if it’s the bat bike. I fell in love and many of you did too. Still roasts litre bikes from a launch and seems to be the one everyone wants watch. Wheel Tire Fuel tank Automotive fuel system Vehicle

I've seen the review from MCN and they are in love ❤ Not sure what to say since I am not familiar with the V4 engine and that technology. Not much riding experience. Maybe someone with more motorcycle experience can chime in.

Surely that ridiculous cylinder deactivation is turned off in Track mode. If it can't be defeated, it would destroy the whole riding experience. And the prices on those aftermarket pipes is obscene.........

Anyone familiar with the new V4 engine? How would you compare it to the 1260? A lot of people say it's a lot smoother, but don't have any real world experience. I also see that they need to keep the Diavel V4 at a higher rpm for power.

Development is moving forward, so the V4 is probably a better engine in some areas, less vibrations, and among other things 60,000 km valve check interval. Even for many, Ducati is moving away from the well-known Desmo V2 engine

I also owned a Multistrada 1260s last year and compared to a mate's MS V4, the 1260 clearly used less fuel. So how it's more environmentally friendly I don't know.

Definitely understand the V4 engine for the multistrada but for the diavel it’s a bit shocking as it changes the character of the bike completely and less in line with cruisers of many other brands. I almost would not put the new Diavel in the power cruiser segment. I would say it’s a beefier monster.

I'm one of the OGs of this forum and still have my Gen 1. Been gone a long while from this place and came back because of all the buzz with this new V4 model. It's funny how the more things change, the more they stay the same. Gen 1 owners pooped all over the Gen 2 design. Gen 2 owners repaid the favor when the 1260 came out. Now, you have the 1260 owners saying pretty much the same things about the V4.

The comments seem to echo the same sentiments too:

Ducati stripped away everything that made the Diavel great.
Something seems off about the new design.
What was Ducati thinking? They're gonna alienate current customers.
Eww, that exhaust design. Hopefully, aftermarket will fix it.
Not worth the money for me. I'll keep my current bike.
Performance seems about the same. I'll keep my current bike.
I finally saw one in person and it looks better than in pictures, but I'll keep my current bike.
My buddy got rid of his [insert bike name] for the new V4. What a dummy. I'll keep my current bike.
Reviews are coming in and everyone seems to like it. What a bunch of dummies. I'll keep my current bike.
My buddy let me ride his V4 and it was kind of fun, but I'll keep my current bike.
Went on a ride and there were a couple V4s tearing it up, but I was able to keep up on my current bike.
I was at the dealer the other day and they let me take the V4 for an extended test ride. For the right price, I might consider it.
[A few weeks of silence pass]
Hey, guys, don't be mad but I sold my old bike and got the V4. I LOVE IT!!!
