Anyone here riding with the Shoei Neotec 2? I recently moved to NH and bought one for the convenience of a modular and the integrated Sena SRL2, so I now have Bluetooth navigation (and music) which makes riding my 2013 Diavel Dark in unfamiliar areas so much better.

First impressions are I really like it. It's a bit snug on my left ear, which hopefully improves as it breaks in. The Evo Pinlock works well, no fogging, but I'd rather look through the shield directly as it slightly effects vision and peripherally it's a little dicey on shoulder checks since it doesn't cover the entire shield.

Some questions:

Why doesn't Shoei offer a Transitions Photochromic face shield as they do on other models? My Bell full face has one and I really like it.

Anyone using the the Mellow Smoke, Light Smoke or Dark Smoke tinted shields? If so, in particular, how is the Dark Smoke when used in conjunction with the pull down sun shield?

Anyone riding with the Spectra Chrome, Blue or Gold shields, or the High-Def Yellow or Orange who can offer their thoughts?

I'd like to add another shield (preferably a Transitions but that's not available presently), just not sure which one, and any advice would be appreciated.

In regards to snug on left ear, I believe it'll be the speaker. Check if there's spacers underneath it and remove to suit. It may even be the foam on the cheek pad.
I have an Arai RX-V and it's fully customisable with removable foam layers. Initially it was rather tight, but after a month or two it softened up, and now it's a touch on the loose side after a few years.
Also check to make sure that the pads are in all the way home in their seating position. The helmet should be symmetrical so the left side cheek pad could be slightly out of position.

Send it!

Bought one last year. No problems with the fitment. Slr leaves something to be desired as far as music goes but the rest is good. Definitely try and readjust the speaker that is bothering you mine seems spot on.

Thanks, Tony! I'm sure it will be fine after it breaks in.

Are you using the stock clear face shield, or did you add one of the smoked or spectra chrome shields?

Shoei does offer a transition lens for the RF-SR and the RF-1200. Cost me $300 CAD, which is pretty good and saves me from carrying two visors. The bell one for my wife’s bell srt helmet was about $200 CAD loves the transition but hates the helmet. Maybe you’ll have to wait til they come out with one for your version of helmet

Not own Neotec 2 but GT Air 2...
Used the integreted Sena communication. Works well.
Bought the light smoke visir. Together with the drop down sun visior it give me enough "protection "/ darkness against the sun light.

I've once own an iridium visir (coloured) but never again. Need to be very carefully and were I live, very exposed to bugs, that not a good combination.

When I called Shoei, I was disappointed to learn that there are no plans to make a Transition shield for the Neotec 2.

Thanks for the info!! Maybe the Light Smoke is the way to go. Is it light enough if you get caught having to ride at night?

Not sure why you would need a transition screen since it's a equipped with the flip down visor. Unless you are just going for a cool look?
Two reasons, Aside from the cool look...

1. The flip down sun visor is pretty good, but when riding directly into the sun, darker would be better.

2. From what I've read, smoked shields provide better UV protection.

Yes.
My experience are that the light smoke just give you the extra you need in the sunlight without been to dark during the night/ tunnel.
Have own helmet with dark smoke visir. Looks awesome and work great during daytime, but end ut flipping up the visir in tunnel or dark places.

A photocromatic visir/ pinlock will help you like the light smoke visir. Get darker in sun light and stay clear in night. Just cost $$$ more.
