Looking at the newly released pictures of the 2013 Diavels I notice a somehow different FRONT tire profile! Which looks like a Diablo Rosso II but with channels more connected.

Check this front of the new.... versus the previous....

sure is a difference, i just ordered a new set of oem pirelli and recieved same as later pic posted. Some manufactures use more detailed parts during shows and exhibits and have little read between the lines sections to cover this up. jmo but none the less good eye

I know this is an old thread, but curious how many miles I should expect out of these tires. I really like them, but are there any other options to consider?

For the front there's probably hundreds of choices.
For the rear, just one choice for now.
I get 5000klms out of a set.

Yeah, the OEM tire for the 2013 has changed. I just picked up the newer model recently, my tire guy told me he spec'd the newer model #.

I was always taught not to mix and match tires. I saw a pretty decent price for a pair for the bike, just trying to plan ahead since I've already put 1,600 miles on the bike over 5 weeks.

I used to mix that all the time, now I can barely finish a beer anymore. I started buying 8oz bud lights because I only drink half of a regular bottle, usually with something off the grill.

if you rode like a law abiding citizen you could probably get 7500km from a set Coop,
Whatever, new matching front and rear tyres, don't get better than that!

After having a RII front just go to crap in very few miles (probably just a bad one but whatever), I put an Angel on the front. Hasn't been an issue.

I don't think that there's a problem with having different brands front and back.
Front and rear tyres are made completely different because if huge very different jobs they have to do.
Just have the best available for either end and all should be ok.

I prefer a "fresh tops 1.5 year old" tire than an ever lasting tire. Rubber is key and I prefer fresh, specially on a machine like the Diavel. I would replace them as required. Having said this the Pirelli angel on the front seems an alternative.

I've got almost 4,500 miles on my original tires. Front is done, rear still has tread but uneven wear. I'll replace both soon.

I have 6500 miles on my original set. I didn't really start getting on mine until recently through mountain passes and lake runs. I have to replace them very soon as I just hit the wear bars on the rear.
