Ducati Wolverhampton didn't drill my bars, just clipped the wires to all the others & made a neat & tidy job (see photos)
The OEM Grip is screwed to the handlebar with two "self drilling" screws. My handlebar is from 2016 and didn't have the holes, so I had to drill them. I did the cabling the same, like on the photos, but without screws the LEFT grip itself, would move around.

By the way. The grips are working soooo amazing. "Medium" is absolutely enough for 10 degree. Makes a big difference than riding without.

Thanks must be 2017 mod they predrill, or dealer did. Mine doesn't have em, I haven't had time on weekend to look for wires yet. Typical grips will arrive soon, and its going to be 4-5c tomorrow lol!

Just hope all wiring is correct on 2016 early model to!

Mine is early 2016.

FYI: The plugs you are looking for, look different, because there are black dummy connectors inside.

Thanks Martin, good news just making sure as be typical they say oh won't work with older model. Last night looked properly and found em I think! On right side found it easier to undo the cap for coolant tank, makes it easier to get to connector for throttle grip, then found a small grey one with a black dummy one in think thats for sat nav as been said. On right side as you said zip tied up are what look 2 same and says something like heater on the label. Will cut loose when I have time fit them properly. This is like right behind the steerer tube part of frame.

Is it likely the firmware was updated at my service back in April? though suspect another newer maybe out to now.

You found them!

Btw: the navi connector is the right choice for attaching an USB port to the battery. It is fused and delivers the right voltage and amperage.

No matter if you have the latest firmware installed, I am afraid you have to visit the dealer again. Only he can enable the „heated grips" feature.

Yea finally lol!

Ahh thanks good to know for future.

I was more concerned if it took along time to update. As it is my service indicator is on to as had service before it was a year.

Can you turn and adjust levels of heat for grips whilst going along or need to be stopped?

They have to connect their computer with the port under the seat. And they have to connect the battery to a battry loader as well. Then you will geht the newest firmware and they can enable the featuren. Approx 30 min all in all.

Afterwards you can turn the heated grips on with the MENU/ENTER button.

Between 5 and 10 •C i run High. Depending on speed and wind.

It's not easy to explain and the instructions sucks.

You do it with the Menu/Enter button itself, but to be more precise: you go up..up..up (arrow up) until you see H.GRIPS in the upper line and then you press „up" a little longer... and so on. It's rather easy and you can do it while riding

yes also agree not super intuitive to use. eg you are using the up button to navigate, then also holding up button to set them rather than the "enter" button. also note you need the engine actually running rather than in standby mode to get them on properly.

I see sounds a bit of a bodge, but sure it works once used to it. I imagine they only work when bikes is on and maybe only when engine running to save battery.
Will hopefully fit weekend and get activated soon after.

my guy that fitted mine is an aftermarket custom/repair ducati specialist and was able to access the firmware just FYI if your official dealer is too busy to fit you in etc. not saying most place will have it but its possibly worth checking out

Oh I see do you mean firmware update or activating the grips? I thought which ever one the bike needed to be connected to there computer thing?
Its not like just a setting in menu sort thing be simple then lol.

Maybe your guy has a device he can connect to many bikes etc.

correct . I'm saying some non dealership places may have access to the correct/recent ducati firmware releases which is useful to bypass the longer wait times (in London anyway) of booking a slot with your official dealership.
