has anyone found a good mount for an iphone on the Diavel? Since the Iphone has bluetooth, gps audible turn by turn, music, etc, it could be handy with a bluetooth helmet. I am looking for a good solution. Any suggestions?

Yes I have been working on this recently. My experience thus far has been that the GPS on full time drains the iPhone battery fast.
I'm working on getting power to it:

I have mounts from GPS city.com

RAM Mount Universal X-Grip Phone Cradle with B-Ball RAM-HOL-UN7BU
RAM Mount Medium Arm B-Socket RAM-B-201U
RAM Mount Utility Strap Steel U-Bolt Base with 1 inch Ball
There is a USB Power adapter USB-WTHR-CAP All Weather USB Hardwire Kit at Cyclenuts.com. I have this but not installed yet.

I will post pictures soon, but if you search the forum with find others that have done this.

This is the perfect set up imo. Its made by Gomadic. About $25 bucks on gomadic.com for the handlebar clamp and phone cradle with lifetime warranty. The phone clamps in nice a nd tight. There is rubber pads to hokd it in good. I trust this thing, it has been straight at speeds up to 150mph and wheelies and bumps are no issue.

With my android phone its great cause when im using gps i can press the power button to turn on or off the screen when navigating to save battery. To make the experience perfect and more simple i have a sony
ericsson hbh ds205 bluetooth device which has play, volume, track change buttons. With that connected to my phone i dont even really turn on the screen to see where to go cause i have the voice guided directions pausing my tunes and telling me where the next turn is.

This makes the perfect all in one experience for me and i highly recommend this whole setup. Technology is great!

Hi
I run a Samsung Galaxy S with an Interphone F4 bluetooth helmet set - this gives me music, SatNav (Co-Pilot Live), telephone and intercom to my riding buddies (the Interphone is awesome for this). I have yet to add the power connector but that is a simple task. I can use the screen while riding if I have the right gloves on (not sure what the difference between the gloves is but one pair works really well and the other pair is rubbish) and, because I got it to fit just under the screen, it can be used in light rain.

Here is the pic, I tried to make it look as much like a standard fit as possible:

Just heads up guys, if your cell phone or gps mount is floating and laying against your upper dash, with road bumps and vibrations the parts will rub and wear down the plastics...I have a pretty noticeable rub mark where the gps rubbed the upper dash.

I ditched the garmin gps and have been using my iPhone and Garmin app, with a RAM cradle and mount. The cradle is attached to the bracket and manufactured to work best in the vertical position. I want it mounted in the horizontal position and I'm getting a lot of vibration on the opposite end where the brace attaches to the cradle...need to come up with a more sturdy and secure solution.

After much research and trial and error, I found a great way to mount the Iphone where it belongs about the instrucment cluster. i purchased a bar mount system from www.GadgetGuy.com and installed the 4Lock Iphone cradle onto the gadgetguy bar. Really works well. Fits comfortably behind the touring windscreen. Both the GadgetGuy bar system and the 4Lock cradle are very high quality.

Guys, great forum. I am picking up my 2012 black Carbon Diavel day after tomorrow. Am using my iPhone for navi and was looking for something small and clean. Have found these:

Hard wire 12V harness down to whatever navi/phone you have. These guys are great and support almost anything.

iPhone handlebar mount. Used same on my Harley Night Rod Special - which I am selling for the Diavel. Very small and clean.

I hope that this allows me to use the small screen and mount the iPhone sideways. Will post pix when its all said and done.

I mounted this keryaiken universal phone mount today. I wanted to maintain the top center spot for the iPhone but the bar wrap bracket would not fit with the dash in place. I drilled and tapped the center of the bar using a #7 bit and 1/4 20 c tap to thread the hole, bit surprised at the thickness of the bars towards the center.

Used blue thread loc and she ended up snugging in there just fine! Here are some pics of the end result. I plan on just mounting a phone case that I can slip in and out of it !
