Ducati Link app connection issue

The app will not connect to my bike anymore.
The app starts up, I log in, connect my phone to the bike, but in the app there is a line through the BT symbol (not connected) and I'm not able to start logging a trip.

I have changed phone since last year so that is the only thing that has changed.
My current iPhone 13 Pro Max is connected to the bike and the app is working, seems the app and the bike is not able to talk to each other, I have checked the apps access on my iPhone and it has full access to what it needs.
I did have an issue at first where the app crashed on the login screen and never managed to log in.
Hence the app was been deleted and reinstalled which fixed the login issue. BT pairing has been deleted both on the bike and the phone numerous times and I started "fresh".
I have also tried to "add new bike", and that does not work either.

Then the funny part, I pulled up my old iPhone XS Max and that connected to the bike straight away.
I the only difference is that this phone runs an iOS version that is probably a year old.

Anyone else have this problem?
I can't see that there is anything other than the iOS version and possibly the Ducati Link app version that is different.

Not sure what version of iOS you are using for the new phone, but there are a lot of security blocks that prevent services from working at times with the latest version 16.4.1

Have you checked "Settings" and scrolled down to the section for the "Ducati Link" app to make sure that you have everything enabled that you need. Could be that Bluetooth access is off or something else. Make sure you have the latest app version which is 1.6.8. If none of that works email Ducati at [email protected]. Seems to be the email to use for issues with their app.
I have the latest iOS 16.3.1 and haven't been prompted about an update, but when I "checked for updates" the 16.4.1 came up.
I did check all the settings with BT access etc, I thought I had done everything I could which is why I asked for help.
The app is 1.6.8.
New iOS did not help, I have cleared the BT pairing and reinstalled the app once more, still won't connect.
my bike had BT 4.0, so I'm now thinking perhaps the bike needs an update.

Seems I need to email Ducati.
From a programmer’s perspective, my educated guess would be that the Diavel is the problem. As you said, it works right away with the old phone.

Either the bike needs to (somehow) be unpaired from the old phone, or it needs to be updated to use the new iOS’ bluetooth protocol.

PS.
Sorry to hear about all of the issues you’re encountering this season. Fingers crossed this is the last of them!

I agree, I have been working with software a bit myself. maybe there is a BT4.1 or something available for the bike.
The bike did have its service late July last year, so that update must have come after that.

My issues are minor things, the app is really just a nice to have, the brakes is a general maintenance thing.
I like keeping records online in case someone needs help some time in the future and find these threads, have saved me a lot of grief over the years with various bikes/cars when someone has solved the same issue in the past.
Hoping to have a good season this year, bike has done 7600km since new (2020) and still on original tires :) noticed I only had 800km since that service :)

I agree with @gljuss I believe that Ducati needs to update their software to work with new iOS protocols.

In terms of the bluetooth version on the motorcycles, we are stuck with what is on the bike since they are unlikely to come out with a new physical module supporting the new bluetooth versions I believe we are now on 5.2. I went to the dealer to get a pre season check up and they connected it to their system and their were no updates to the bike. The last time it was connected was in October, so I think your best bet is to email their app support to get some sort of resolution.

Let us know what they say. Good luck!
I'm running Android and on my bike it connects ok and I hit start in the app then I get the warning message which I tap ok but for some reason it doesn't track my ride - why is this

Mine doesn't track either. 2022 1260 S

I did email them on the 27th of April, but so far no reply.
No, no reply. Even checked my spam folder.
I think it's best to contact them through the myDucati app and not Link App - try that
I have the Same Problem with my panigale v4s 2022, i get my bike on friday with new Ducati Service. The bike Connect To my iPhone 14pro and the phone on Display is Blue, but the Connect App find Not my bike…
Crazy that this feature hasn't been fixed yet.

I think Ducati's app development is low priority for them. I just feel that once a company goes into releasing an app, they need to go all the way and support it for their customers. Unfortunately, constant updates and bug fixing is the name of the game. I'm just happy to have my phone mounted next to the dash and use that for GPS, phone, etc and not rely on Ducati to update their system when new phones, APIs, or technologies come out.
Still no feedback from Ducati, I have given up.

I can manage just fine without the app, but its nice to have sometimes.
I have my phone in landscape right above the screens using an Evotech mount, great mount, but it means I can't have a windscreen.

That said, I just bought a new car from the VW Group 5 months ago, their software and apps sucks as well, come to think of it, they own Ducati as well so it kind of makes sense I guess.........
This is so disappointing to hear. I downloaded the app and am having the same problem with my 2019 Diavel 1260 S. The first time I opened everything I got the dash confirmation to pair, but then the phone never connected. I still can't get it to connect and I've tried multiple times.

I was hoping to take advantage of everything the bike has to offer : (

It's a problem with the 13 models.
I also had a 13 and an XS Max.
I had the same issues connecting to my MacBook Pros. It is a problem with the 13 model iPhone. I find it irritating that the 13 has so many connectivity issues where the XSMax connected immediately without issue. I washed my XSMax in my jeans 2 months ago and replaced it with a 12Max. Same deal, when the 13 doesn't connect the 12 does immediately.
I warn my friends to skip the 13 models.

I have an iPhone 14 and I'm still having the connection issue. Have the latest OS and all, and it connects to the bike without any issue- the app just refuses to connect to the bike for some reason, and I've tried everything I can think of. Including messaging Ducati on the app, which hasn't yet yielded a response
Stumbled across this. Diavel 1260S 2021 owner. Same issue. Guess it’s not just me
