After a year and a half with a completely stock bike, I've finally got around to doing a few mods.
I'll add two separate posts in this thread, one for the Rizoma rearsets and another for the Rizoma Spy-Q mirrors.

I ordered everything from italianmotostyles.com, worked with Giovanni who is a great guy, very responsive and communicative. He did an awesome job of keeping me informed, gave me a great deal on my order, sent tracking info and even followed up once the stuff arrived to make sure all is good.

I have to say this stuff is beautiful. Amazing. The quality and detail on the rearsets is top notch. They even came with a relocation bracket for the rear brake master cylinder, so Rizoma definitely thought of everything.

I installed the rearsets myself and while it was not difficult, the side with the rear brake pedal was a complete pain because I don't have a stand or a lift, and with the exhaust in the way, it was difficult to get to some of the bolts.

Here are some photos of the installed rearsets: note that the bolts that go into the frame are silver, but I chose to reuse the original black ones because they blend in better, I think. Opinions welcome of course.

They are REALLY adjustable.

- The footpegs have a spring, so they fold.
- The pedal (part where you keep your toes) can be rotated 360 degrees and adjusted forward, back, up, or down.
- The footpeg placement has 4 positions to choose from in the rearset, I chose the up and back position
- The brake lever itself can be removed and positioned at any angle for more or less reach to the pedal

I love the way they look and although they are pricey, they definitely are worth it.

Now for the mirrors. Again, beautiful craftsmanship and quality. They look SICK, I love them. However, I think for use as an actual device that allows you to see adequately behind you, I think they're pretty useless.

Look amazing though. Install was easy. These a direct bolt-on replacement for the original handlebar weights. They came with several spacers, which I didn't need to use. I reused the stock Ducati gold weights that I found when I removed the stock bar-end weights. I also reused the stock bolt which is longer than the one supplied by Rizoma. Fit is perfect with only a small gap between the mirror and handlebar grip. It's not noticeable, though, unless you look really close.

Some shots of the mirrors installed:

Overall I am really happy with both of these mods!

I noticed the plug protruding from the stock mirror brackets. Some members have flipped the brace so it faces down, others have plugged the hole just as you did. You could cut the plug so it sits flush and has a nicer finish. Just some ideas...the images look amazing. Keep up the good work.

Thanks GiL - yeah, I forgot about those damn plugs in my post

I tried hitting them in there with a mallot but it didn't help. I might actually just get some short bolts and close the hole that way, rather than leave the plastic caps in. Or, I'll bust out the Dremel and cut the plugs as you suggested. Thanks for reminding me that I don't want to leave them in there like that.

Nice mods Ddk.
Very interested to put on the rearsets too..
At the moment i am trying to decide between Rizoma or cnc racing.

Love the mirrors...very retro..

I'm getting very interested in the rearsets as I am finding that the current stock setup on my Diavel doesn't feel quite "right" yet. Too many years on a modified Ducati Monster and a 748 will do that I guess.

As for the mirrors, I have the Spy-R's and I find them very good - better than the stock mirrors in some respects and definitely better in the looks department. I find it has a surprising amount of visibility for such a small and unobtrusive setup - I ran around for a week with just the one on the right bar and found I had more than enough rear view (I aways head check before I change lanes anyway...)

about the rearsets..
the cnc racing can act as slider/protection.
the footpeg is rigid, it does not fold up like the stock and the rizoma..
this feature is said to better. of course i do not know such benefit...anyone ?

i replaced the clamp with some off a 1098/848 from a wreckers, cost me $20 and there's no std mirror holes, looks factory

Great work! I am also sitting the fence on rizoma rearsets, think this might just convince me

erwin - I for one would never want to get fixed pegs, if you dig them in on a bend (esp track), you run the risk of breaking the bike's traction and getting into some seriously wild crashes. Foldable pegs will in a similar situation will, well - fold. But I am no expert on this and might be missing some other benefit of fixed pegs

Thanks for your perspective on the mirrors. I rode my SV650 for years without mirrors and so got used to doing a head check all the time. Still do to this day. It's good to know the mirrors aren't completely useless.

I haven't taken the bike for a ride yet with the new parts installed, and once I do probably this weekend, I'll report back as well on the usefulness of the mirrors. Hopefully they'll surprise me. They look so good that it doesn't bother me one way or another, though

I have my eye on some of the Rizoma stuff myself. I am perplexed on the mirrors as I like the look of the end mirrors but I want something that works as well as the originals.
Check out Erwin's mods in the "What did you do to your Diavel today?" thread from yesterday or the day before. He installed some nice looking Rizoma mirrors that look to be a similar size to stock and use the stock mirror location. It's something to consider if usability is a real concern, as the bar-end mirrors are usually very small.

Once I go for a ride I'll report back in this thread on the Spy-Q mirrors in traffic, etc., for comparison.

the best bar end mirror for me is the CRG lane splitter, 3" slightly convex and it folds in when filtering through stationary traffic at the lights, no vibes at all and a much clearer view than aything ducati put on there as std.

Very nice DDK. Great pictures as always. As for the foldable vs. fixed pegs discusssion, I would lean more towards foldable. Another issue with fixed is if you were to ever lay the motorcylce down, it might catch and cause the motorcycle to flip.
