I just received my Corbin seat for my diavel and loved it. After a day or two I started to take a closer look at every stitch loving it until I saw that one of the red stitched had pulled out and was loose. I tried to push it back into the small hole it came out of. After my first ride I noticed that the stitch had pulled out of the hole I pushed it back into and it looks like my pants had pulled the stitch next to it and now there were two adjoining stitches loose. I took some small scissors and cut away the loose stitches so it could not be accidentally pulled out any more. I have emailed Corbin and told them about the situation. That was 4 days ago and have not heard anything yet. To me what sucks the most is that I think Corbin will offer to fix it but what a pain in the ass. I no longer have the box or the packing material. I bought it directly from Corbin. That defect should have been caught by quality control. For that price....... Maybe I should have expected this since there have been quite a few people on this forum who have had to send their seats back. Just wanted to start this so others can voice theopir stories so others can benefit. I will post more if Corbin responds. I will post a pic once I'm not just with my iPad.

I think calling them is the best course. My seat came in with the wrong color stitching. I was lucky in that I can show them at the local store. Sergio, the manager of the store, ordered me another seat and swapped it out out with the wrong one when it came in. Painless experience. Ask for him if you call as they are all part of the call center customer service concept. The lack of response may have to do with the holiday weekend. Google Corbin + Sergio and his info will come up.

John can you please post photos of your seat?

I have a strong feeling there are some fitment issues with my Corbin seat. By posting some photos I can compare and see how the Corbin fits on your bike. Would also like to see this stitching defect your seat has...

Here's a pic of the stitch. I have cut the excess smooth and put a extremely small amount of glue on the hole to keep it from spreading. Does anyone know if the structural integrity is affected or is the red stitching just cosmetic?

Thanks

I do not think the red stitching is part of the main construction of the seat or what is actually holding those two panels together. If it was, most likely there were would have been some kind of opening present between the two panels by now. I think the red stitching is just a styling detail, but none the less they definitely should repair that...

I am not a Corbin seat expert, an upholsterer, or have any sewing experience...just observations I'm making from looking at the photo you posted and at my Corbin seat...

John do you have any other photos of your seat?

Fit is very nice. It is snug aginst the tank and I think that's good. It is a bit mroe slippery to sito n over the touring and that will take some getting used to. I got the asphault leather on the back so when my wife rides on the back there is maximum grip on ther butt..... Seat is crok leather. Sides are glossy carbon leather. I wanted a seat that was all leather and the red carbon back part is vinal not leather.

I haven't ruled out buying a Corbin seat, but I have hesitated as a result of some of the mixed feedback on this forum, and I think generally the quality of feedback/reports here is excellent. Right now Corbin has the aftermarket to itself, which leaves me with the slightly uncomfortable feeling that I have no choice. I have the standard and touring from Ducati and both are uncomfortable in well under an hour of riding. I have had some email exchange with Sargent seats today, mainly because i've had a couple of good seats from them in the past. I asked the question: why they are not producing a seat for the Diavel? The response was that they gauge demand based on enquiries for a particular model of motorcycle. Whilst I question their methodology it does mean that owners could provide encouragement for at least one alternative Diavel saddle by enquiring about availability at [email protected]
