Before dropping $500 on a new seat I wanted to reach out to my forum brothers and get a few more opinions. I have heard great things about both brands, but some negative regarding Corbin and their "industrial" style and weight. I'm just shooting for the most comfortable and best fitting, obviously with respect for the appearance of the bike as a whole. The OEM seat feels flat and hard, and doesn't have enough traction to keep me planted- one of the reasons I got stompgrip pads. What say you?
Corbin arrogantly tells you their foam is as soft as you deserve. It does not get softer as they claim. Their pans weigh a ton. I've had two over the years. The last one over a decade ago. I would never buy another one.
Great info. I was leaning towards the Sargent but wanted to get more insight. I'm guessing it will be like getting rid of a rock in your shoe- you don't realize how irritating it is until it's gone. I ride mountain bikes quite a bit so it's not like I have a sensitive ass, but the stock seat has about a 2 hour time limit for me.
Love my Corbin over the Strada seat.
You can always get the Corbin tweaked and adjustments in seating area.
