I imagine some sport bike or Ducati fans may not understand or like this idea, which is cool, but I'm gonna share anyway. :p

My last bike was a Suzuki M109R. A popular mod was beefing up the front tire by installing a rear tire on front. Stock is 130/70/R18, I went with a 150/60/R18 on stock front rim. It really made the bike more enjoyable to ride, better balance through turns, nice lean angle, and could balance to a rolling stop very well. XDiavel's skinny front tire may be the choice for track/pros, but it looks weak! Skinny little front tire when you have that beefy 240 rear.

Today I installed a rear tire on front.. a 140/60/R17 Shinko 006 Podium, PN 87-4030. I figured it would fit the stock rim and install fine, which it did. There are several brands with 130/140 rears, but this Shinko is a sweet looking tire, very sticky wet or dry, very good, even wear. A quick test ride confirms it handles nicely. This bike has very little front end, who knows, I'm hoping it helps with higher speed vibration that seems common. Here she is..

Nice! How about posting a picture of the whole bike to get a better perspective?
Thanks, here are a couple I took in the garage after remounting. I took wheel & new tire to local cycle shop, mount & balance for $ 30 USD.

For those researching rear tire on front, you may come across statements that it needs to be mounted backwards (in terms of rotation). There are varying opinions, with plenty of experts weighing in that it doesn't matter. This tire has excellent rain channel design, so I had it mounted with rotation forward, not backward. I did the same on my last bike, zero issues.

Nice, I like the look.
How did it affect the handling?
Might consider this on my 1260s when its time for a new tire.
II'm an intermediate rider, so not a pro but for me a wider front tire inspires greater confidence esp in turns. On this and my last bike, seems to hold a line through a turn very well. As mentioned it seems to balance things out better. My M109R also had a 240 rear, adding a wider front seemed to give it a bigger bike feel up front, rather than a hyper sensitive front end if that makes sense. I could roll to a stop with less steering/wobble (for lack of a better term). I really like the Shinko tire, keeps it look. I know I have some "chicken strips" here, I could have leaned more with how grippy and stable it felt. Tread wear with about 2,500mi on my last bike

Thanks. I'm not much of a pro either :)

I just managed to get my suspension set up to my liking, I notice I'm way faster and more confident on the bike now.
My bike has only done 4500km/2800mi so I have decent amount of rubber left. Hope I can get 6500km/4000mi or more out of the rear (Rosso III), but with my new found confidence, I might wear them out faster than I think.
