All,

I was just noticing how my front tire did not spin very well after manual/hand acceleration. Seems as though it should spin longer. I would make comments on the rear, but it is very difficult to guess how much force the chain, transmission, brakes, and others put on the rear tire.

Let me know if anyone thinks this is slowing down more than would be expected. It doesn't feel as though there is much force when in neutral when riding, but when playing with it in the air, it feels like it may be catching.

Your brakes are defo dragging a bit, when you put it in neutral and coast you have the weight and inertia to keep the bike moving for a while.

There isn't much you can do about it there is nothing to release the pads from the disc after pulling on the brake other than the brake fluid itself releasing its pressure.

You could try taking your pads out and giving everything a good clean so the pads move as free as possible, also check the runout on the disc but I suspect they will be within tolerance.

All my bikes do this to some degree I mean a little drag just check its not getting worse.

How many miles have you done?

That's absolutely fine mate.

When you apply the brakes the hydraulic pressure pushes the brake pistons out, this deforms the brake seals, when the pressure is released the seals return to their original shape which pulls the pistons back in. This action doesn't pull the piston all the way back to its original position, this allows for the brakes to automatically adjust to pad and disk wear. But as others have said it does mean there is a very slight brake drag, nothing to be concerned about though.

Uh, normal. Some of the questions on here I'd swear this is some of your first bike..... More money than brains I guess....
Bro, chill out...if the questions on the forum are to trivial for you then your free to leave. The forum is here to share information, regardless of how obvious it may be to you or anyone else. Ever hear the saying, "The only stupid question is the one not asked." Perhaps this may be some members first bike, and if so that's fantastic, they picked one hell of a ride!!

You are absolutely right.... If I have nothing constructive to add, don't say anything but move on.....

On the subject of first bike. Why is "Great Choice" or "Great First Bike" when it comes to a Diavel, but if someone got a Panigale for their first bike or R1, People would be saying; "You're gonna kill yourself, its too much bike", start small....

By the way, the saying is; "The only dumb question is the one not asked". Dumb as in unable to speak. Its a play on words....

Ah see, you even know the saying better then I do... As you said, if there is nothing constructive to add then dont say anything and move on, no need to criticize or belittle anyone...

Regarding the statement as to killing ones self on a R1 or Panigale and the Diavel being a better first choice, I disagree...
You could be riding scooter and kill yourself. I think a responsible rider with proper instruction and demonstration of those skills can ride any bike. The responsible and educated rider hopefully will be intelligent enough to know their boundaries and ride within their experience level.

It had surprised me as well at first as my older bikes were way more "freewheel" but did not have ABS ,TC nor this caliber of braking.
