From Motorrad magazine. 2019 may see a Panigale swing arm and chain drive, plus maybe Ohlins suspension?

I wouldn't say horrible, but it is definitely different. I'll wait for better photos before I pass judgement, but I think we can all agree that it was long overdue for a refresh.
Then, it is confirmed.....

Did I just see some mini air-scoops?

Hell yeah Bud! Thanks for sharing!!!!!
Riding position appears more upright than XDiavel, in pictures, no??

Anyways, perhaps the Roadster may replace both Diavel/XDiavel into one?
Kinda looks like a marriage between the two in my eyes.

Anyways again, me like!

It's closer to the X than the regular diavel
X frame. Diavel footpegs. Proper radiator. Odd scoops. Awful front fender.

Is the front wheel smaller? Hard to believe they'd do that, but.... in at least two photos it appears to be smaller diameter than the rear.
Many different opinions. Some like it and some hate it.

Perhaps a marriage between Diavel and Xdiavel? Become one bike.

Was shown on WDW after the rumors said.

^^^^+1 Bud...Perhaps my next bike few years from now...After I wear this one out.

What I'll do for a windscreen option??
Not one that only looks good, but one high enough that actually works +100mph.
Hopefully there'll be a Strada model then....
Worry about that when the time comes.

I wouldn't assume the picture shown in the article is accurate. Note the fine print in the article... "We weren't allowed to take photographs, so the pictures here are based on those conversations, plus sketches taken during the secret preview."

Back wheel looking less wide.

Finally giving in to those who want more "normal" handling traits (especially as the rear tire goes from "new" to "old") and who could blame them?

I ride my '13 Diavel and my '12 FXDWG alternately each three months when the rego runs out.

Always a culture shock ("WTF is wrong with the steering on this bike?") when I first get back on the Diavel and lay it into the first few corners, and getting back on the glide a few months later I always wonder how the fuck Harley still get away with such shite suspenders in this day and age.

To be honest the picture of the bike looks like some kind of cross between Diavel & XD with a reasonable slice of Suzuki Boost King thrown in and doesn't seem to have moved on much.

XD is already overpriced, I'm sure they'll want even more for this with Ohlins chucked in....

Mehhhhh....

Trouble is (IMHO) I'm not really seeing anything fresh....

I remember I hated the bug-eyed Subaru WRX and a whole host of new models when they came out.. I'm sure this will grow on me, but I won't be upgrading to it..
Sad to see the lack of a new headlight design... :/...Looks like an emancipated x-diavel IMO.

I agree Bud...Best of both worlds perhaps in design revolution...Further proof we should assume Diavel/XDiavel are married as Diavel Roadster for 2019.

I like it myself...Imagine MSRP w/Ohlins suspension??? OUCH!!!!

I like it. Best of both worlds.

it's just not aggressive enough.. scoops are smaller, everything is more conventional... :/.. It's quite funny, I would like to see the sales figures, but I'm pretty sure Ducati has enjoyed good sales with the gen1 & gen2, then the x-diavel catered for a different market and also did well I think (personally I love the look of the XD as well, but I'm more than happy with my 1st gen), this one tries to sort-of-appeal-to-everyone, but I think it'll lose a lot of the agressive-muscle-sports-god-knows-what market and the power-cruiser crew the XD targeted.

Maybe they sell more XDiavels in other parts of the world but I've seen two.

One in the showroom....

I don't disagree. It still looks like a Ducati, which is somewhat limiting right there. We'll see when the real one is shown - not just a rendering.

I'm probably not buying one either way, but I do hope it is a success for them. The health of the company is in our best interest.
Seat height of current model is too low though I am 5'4" tall, and footpegs are located too forward for me. I expect higher seat and footpegs shifted backward of new Diavel.

I ride 1290SDR too. its motor has power like Diavel plus smoother pickup. I am aged 55. Recently I found the less bike vibrates the less my eyes get tired. Smooter motor is blessing.
But regarding feeling while riding twisty roads, I prefer Diavel rather than 1290SDR. Diavel's lower center of mass causes a sense of safety then I can become aggressive in turning corners.

I guess Ducati give the new Diavel stunning appearance at official reveal with Italian design sense belying negative anticipation on this site.

So I look forward to the new one.

So they have taken the look of the X and adapted that to the characteristics of the original Diavel then.....
