Hi Guys, greetings from Hong Kong.
I have a Diavel Dark, been riding it over 10,000km. there is some problem with my Fuel Gauge recently.

1. the average fuel consumption indicator no longer work. It gets stuck with "20 liter/100km" and never move any more.
PS: the real-time fuel consumption indicator works well...
2. Everytime when i fuel full the tank, start the bike, the fuel level indicator remains where it was before the fueling. It normally needs another 2-3 times restart to get the fuel level indicator show "full".

I've asked local dealer abt this and they never seen this kinda problem before. They r sending emails to Italy HQ to check but no reply yet.

so wondering if any of you guys encounter this kinda problem before.

Thanks for your reply.

Here is my bike, and photo taken by myself...

Greetings from New Zealand. I have a dark stealth and I am the second owner. I recently purchased it, hopped on it and road for about 1000kms of leisurely touring. It did the same thing the entire trip. Once I got home and mucked around with some suspension settings, I then went out and went for a ride with a bunch of superbike. As you can imagine, it was a fast-paced ride with lots of high speed corners, changes of direction, heavy braking and acceleration, and the obligatory power stands. During this time (300 kms) I never experienced this problem, nor have I had it since (I'm into my second month of ownership). I put it down to a sticky fuel sensor which has become free but don't really know. I also asked my dealer about the problem and they suggested I drop it into the shop for them to look at - which I haven't done, and won't unless the issue comes back.

It's a well known issue with the Diavel. My fuel sensor went out around 7,500 miles and it was replaced under warranty. Even if yours is out of warranty I would take it to the dealer and ask nicely if they would cover it. They might reject your claim but it's at least worth asking since it's so common.

I believe there is a newer version of the sensor - mine is still working and it was replaced about 6,500 miles ago and so far, so good.

Same exact thing happened to my 2015 with 14K miles. My dealer had to order the new part but replaced it no questions asked (was still within warranty tho).

Typical dealers. This is pretty bad because 10 seconds on Google will tell you its a common issue. We are now up to rev. E for the sensor. I had rev. D on in my Multistrada with no problem and have E on my Diavel and so far so good no issues.

I have the same problem on my Dark, among other things, but that"s another story. My fuel gauge starting doing exactly what you describe around about 10,000 kms and as DLewis says above, a quick search on Google shows that it's a common problem. I'm hoping mine will be changed while they have the bike to sort out the other problems I have. Good luck with yours.
I've had mine replaced twice. It should be listed by Ducati as a feature: fuel sensors that suck.

There are probably fewer Diavel's on the road without a fuel sensor problem than there are with it. Mine was like that on the day I picked it up, with only 11 miles on it. Warranty repair. There should be a worldwide recall on the faulty sensors.

Oh, and not a problem since it was replaced.
Same here. Failed on the ride home from the dealer. Replacement has lasted 11 months so far.

I thought that went without saying

The fuel sensor on my 1098 sucked balls too. It never went completely out (which I would've preferred). It would just flake out whenever it wanted to. Only caught me off guard once - I'm guessing Murphy was on vacation that day because I was going down hill and there was a gas station mid-way he he.
