The CF Termis have just landed... I see what you guys meant about undoing the rivets, I will not put the exhaust through that. So I guess no ceramic coating :)

You can still do the ceramic coating of the pipes and the section where the rivets are (CF tips) just have it painted with high temp paint, no need to remove the rivets, paint will hold up, that is what I did and the tips section paint looks as good as the ceramic coated pipes

Thanks a million Edu !!! Will take the whole setup to the coating company on Monday and let them know. I assume the pipes will fit together with the coating on or the shop knows how and what to do?

No problem man, yes the pipes will fit together with the coating, each pipe will be ceramic coated separately and you will take all of them to the shop where the termis will be installed, just let the coating company know that the tips section should only be high temp painted and not ceramic coated so they dont remove the rivets

Did you remove the DB killers? Reading through the booklet and seems pretty easy to do. I assume it's louder without the DBs...

I removed my top baffle and the bike sounds pretty good. It definitely is louder than before. As for the ceramic coating I also thought about having my pipes all black, but hesitated due to the durability issues I have been told. My pipes started out very light colored and has changed to a much darker and deeper bronze colored look that is growing on me. One forum member stated that it was a "seaoned" look--I agree!

If you like the look of ceramic coating, there are some products that do not require a high temp heat cure and therefore you do not have to disassemble and remove the cans from the pipes. I had this done, the cure is at about 200 F, a temp well within the normal operating tolerance of the cans. Turned out really nice and no damage or discolor whatsoever to the cans. But be careful, most ceramic products do require a high temp, typically 700 or 800 F, and this will damage the cans if they are left on.

I did this for the can section, I used a very high temp cure paint and didnt have to remove the cans, i did the ceramic coating on the other connecting pipes, the match is perfect and havent had any peeling issues on any of the can pipes
