the wording is confusing. I would think you want the exhaust gas to be hotter, and the pipes to be cooler. in any case, as i had posted previously, the carbon black full termi system on my 2015 made my right leg feel a LOT more heat than the stock. opinions on here were that you need remove the baffles to reduce the heat.

I haven't done that. I just deal with the heat. it's most noticeable when stopped at a light or slow traffic conditions in hotter weather.

    GRD,

I have no issues with the heat of the factory pipes as I ride in high boots. The Arizona climate does not help either, most days the bike has the cooling fans on as the average engine temps linger in the 220F. I assumed that the 33% heat reduction is something realistic as it came directly from the manufacturer specs. The reason I want them black is the aesthetics... heat does not and never did present an issue, but if coating reduces the heat then it's a plus.

OK,,The heat build up from back pressure, baffles, is bad for flow thus hurts performance ...It should run cooler with them out, , IF a ECU is tuned to run that richer mixture needed, if not it would also stay hot due to being to lean of a mixture , But our Termi ECU will handle it..
This is whats harder to describe,,,Yes you want to keep the exhaust gases as hot as possible down the exhaust path because they will have a higher velocity hot,,if they cool down they expand and cause surface friction, thus stepped pipes come into play for max. performance exhaust tuning....But first the Air /Fuel mixture should be right before you try to contain the heat in the pipes..
Keeping the heat in the pipes does help ,, as others wrap there pipes also...but I wouldn't look for a seat of the pants gain, just maybe a few HP on the Dyno.
Hope I explained it good enough and it helped..

I would tend to believe only in ideal test conditions but I'm still not convinced it does. We've had them coated inside and out and it's not made a discernible difference in temperature. They do chip from road debris and we've had them recoated for customer under the coaters warranty. They compliment the black motor and I believe this is why customer choose them. Personally, I like the raw metal look.

Well, I believe I will leave it alone for now but seems that it is easier to have it done before being installed.

I like the color that it slowly changes to after riding for a couple of years. A darker bronze... I hope that it keeps getting even darker.

It is a matter of personal taste, I did ceramic coated my Termis and IMO looks more aggressive, I paid for the ceramic coating $200 here in SFL

Another question in regards to a full Termi system to those who have one installed on their bikes:

Does the full race exhaust unleash the beast within and lifts emission related restrictions such as the lean fueling from the factory?
Does the bike feel noticeably different with a full system?

I did not notice any significant differences, at least not with the DP tune that comes with the pipe. Maybe should setup it properly in dyno..

So, the factory information about gain of 12HP is bogus?

It made a noticeable difference in power to me in the low to upper mid range power band....Better throttle response ,crisper and ass kicking sound without the DB killers..Happy with the results.

The DB killers can be removed ? Wonder if the Ducati dealership will comply with that request and do it for me? BTW, UPS should drop off the package tomorrow... can't wait.

Maybe I lost some low/mid range grunt, at least it feels that way.. Overtaking within traffic in 6th is not so quick as with stock pipe.

So besides weight loss and better looks, what other benefits are there to putting a full Termi system?

DB killers can be installed and removed with ease? Are you able to post a pic of the db killers?
