I've read 2 threads concerning installing a panigale gas cap and potential venting issues. Can someone please post a DIY on the proper way to install it. Seems like it takes more steps than the included instructions that came with the kit. I have seen bits and parts of Kuhlka's duc ee install. Thanks in advance.

I just decided to have the dealer install the cap. So far I've had no venting issues.Attached File  ImageUploadedByTapatalk1364692170.952994.jpg (144.17K)

Don't have pics of the installation so I'll have to go on memory. Your basically just replacing the top part of the cap. you remove the tank cover to get to the original cap. When you remove the original cap , disassemble the OEM and attach it to the new DP cap with the provided screws. And then just reassemble making sure to reattach the venting hoses. Hope this helps.

Yes , you'll need to remove the side air intakes. I was able to install without completely removing the tank cover and unplugging the dash.I just propped the cover up with a piece of foam I had laying around.

For the people who have installed this...

Does the gas-cap lock? Just wondering because I know you dont need a key to access it which I love... but what prevents other people from pouring shit in my gas tank?

THanks.

I just did this mod yesterday. Not too bad but you have to remove a lot of the plastic.

I removed the tank cover, the side panels, seat, instrument cover and LCD displays. Once this is doen all you have to do is detach the 2 vent hoses and then remove the cap assembly,

You reuse most of the OEM parts of the gas gap - essentially just changing the cover with the new gas cap/cover boltin on to the existing plate.

It was tedious but I wasn't going to pay for 1-2 hours labor to do this. Took my 1.5 hours from start to finish. If I had to do it again I think I could do it in just over an hour.

Very nice look it gave the bike!!!! If you are going to do this mod also plan on changing the instrument cover to the CF one - do them together to save time :)
