Check this out to see how the Ducati Diavel TV advert was created. I found it interesting.

Hmmm.
Happily the quality of the bike is a lot higher than the quality of the spot, which is vastly preferable to the other way 'round I suppose.
The shooting is banal. An average episode of Top Gear has more evocative photography than this does.
Every cornball 90's music video cliche is jammed into this dumb spot, blowing paper, turning faces, blank stares, little boy with face pressed against wet glass...Ugh.
The copywriting is inane, and from my point of view, the closing line, which speaks to the idea of "being noticed" is a rather sad commentary on the reason for having a bike like this.
I own a Diavel not to be noticed but for a much more personal satisfaction, a merger between myself and an beautiful machine, a challenge to conquer self imposed limitations, to set free a sprit that lay dormant when confined to an office, a desk, a keyboard.
Perhaps Ducati shows their cards here in a rather unfortunate way, that they are marketing their products to people that feel they need to be noticed, not for what they accomplish but for what they can buy.
I have a better reason to enjoy the Diavel than it seems the manufacturers themselves have put forward.

Streamliner you are right on. I bought the Diavel on the merits of the bike itself. I was going in to buy a Triumph and the dealer also carried Ducati and I had to walk by it and by chance only saw it, asked a few questions and I was hooked. I never in a million years thought I'd see myself in a Ducati. Still not comfortable telling people I have a Ducati. But the bike is absolutely fantastic and when I ride it there is magic from it, and.........don't need to tell you guys.

It's always interesting to me to see how much work goes into each and every shot; however mundane or short it may seem in the actual advert.

Agreed.
A long way from an enthusiast's GoPro YouTube production.

When I took one out for a test drive, I was floored. I was considering some other reputable makes but this bike really sang to me. She is lovely and riding her is a little like have a friend that keeps upping the ante to keep it interesting. :)
