That's how long it takes to push a Diavel 1/4 mile.

My 1/4 mile is 5 mins! now what?

Wow that's fast... Usually takes me twenty minutes. Everybody always stops and asks about the bike. That takes a lot of time. Nothing like the crowd at the gas station to really blow your time. 1/4 mile...ha

Too bad everyone was expecting the Diavel to be a drag bike. It wasn't intended to be one like the Vmax is. If Ducati wanted it to be a drag bike they would have built it a bit differently. They already have a 200HP motor they could have used but they chose to use the Testastretta 11 degree with 162 HP. There's no big bright traditional shift light like the Vmax has. That & the huge air scoops say what the Vmax is all about. I happen to like the Vmax but maybe that's because I had one in the past & it's completely uncivilized and as such is a blast to ride. I guess because the Diavel was labeled a cruiser (but not by Ducati) everyone expects it to be a drag bike. There are plenty of stock bikes that will leave a stock Vmax in the dust but they aren't labeled as cruisers so no one races them head to head. Seems like this is an apples to oranges camparison. Two bikes built for two different purposes will never really be able to be compared fairly. You don't see the Vmax racing sport bikes around a circuit because there would be no point in it.

Some clear facts 1/4 mile:

1. BMW K1300R = 10.70 (222,77 km/h)
2. V-max = 10.73 (215,53 km/h)
3. Diavel = 10.88 (211,88 km/h)
4. Trumph Rocket = 11.99 (188,11 km/h)
5. Vrod muscle = 12.26 (184,79 km/h)

These are standard bikes and tested by Bike magazine, Norway.

To get the magazine times it helps to weigh only 130 lbs and be willing to smoke the clutch.
I am neither.

Personally I get the best Ducati launches when I don’t smoke the clutch,
Rather I hook it up as soon as possible and let the torque grunt away.

the vmax might be faster in a straight line, but bike are better fun in corners and I doubt the vmax would keep up in the twisty stuff,

not to mention the vmax looks worse than a hat full of assholes....

I'd rather pull the donk out and put it in my lawn mower, not sure what I'd do with the rest of it??

Local Lad run his Diavel at Kwinana motoplex.

has since recorded 10.27 sec Quarter mine.

I got it put on a graph speed is in kph ( 100 kph = 62.5 mph ) time in seconds,

note the 0 - 100 kph time.

graph is smoothed but should be within 1/10 second
